Most mothers will tell you every day is Mother’s Day — thankfully, we take a day each year to celebrate them in return. And while we may not always let our mothers know how much we appreciate them throughout the year, we’re spending more on gifts than ever. Americans alone spent $21.6 billion on Mother’s Day gifts in 2016, twice that of Black Friday, while Australians added $2 billion, making Mother’s Day one of the biggest shopping holidays of the year.
Research also suggests that moms appreciate gifts they’ve indicated they want more than surprises, making mothers themselves particularly valuable audience for brand collaborations. Many countries, including the USA and Australia, will celebrate mothers on May 14, making now the ideal time to post collaborations.
To celebrate some of our moms on Shopping Links, here are a few bloggers to follow around the world, and inspiration for your Mother’s Day collaborations:
The Collaboration: Dress the Kids
Lauren Parry (@laurenjparry) - USA
The blogger behind Outfits & Outings, Lauren is mom to a 1-year-old and a wealth of advice on outfits, workouts, “mom life” and more. We loved her recent collaboration with MARKS & SPENCER, which showed us just how cute a little one can look in a suit.
Jess Dempsey (@whatwouldkarldo) - Australia
What Would Karl Do blogger Jess Dempsey, mom to two boys, shares her “lux mom style” and candid moments juggling kids, fashion -- and sometimes kids' fashion.
Anne-Kathrin Strauß (@les_attitude) - Germany
German blogger Anne-Kathrin Strauß writes about fashion, beauty and family life on Les Attitude, featuring her adorable daughter, who often displays the best in infant fashion.
The Collaboration: Mom & Me Gifts
Jessica Oakes (@positivelyoakes) - USA
Jessica Oakes, mom to toddler Blake, blogs about family life, home decor, fashion, and of course, style for moms and little girls alike. Her recent collaboration with Links of London shows how little treasures can spark traditions, making jewelry a particularly popular gift for Mother’s Day.
Feeling really confused about how light it is outside right now ???? BUT I do have a super cute post up tonight with some Mommy & me bracelets and @linksoflondon ? I'm sharing the impact of family traditions and why some "things" are so important. Link in bio! #LittleBlakeMarie #ad #Linksoflondon #ShoppingLinks
Vanessa Kaufman (@wetheclassy) - USA
Vanessa, mom to a 4-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy, is the stylish blogger behind We the Classy, where she provides social commentary through fashion and individuality. Her recent collaboration with Nordstrom showed us that “mom and me” shopping trips can mean just as much without having to match.
The Collaboration: Just for Mum
Veronica Popoiacu (@bittersweetcolours) - USA
Mother and artist Veronica Popoiauci expresses her creativity through Bittersweet Colours, a highly visual blog full of style and fashion advice. Veronica reminds us that mums need not sacrifice style — and that Mother’s Day gifts need not be related to children. Her recent collaboration with The Daily Edited is one example of great gifts just for Mum.
Vanessa Lambert (@whatwouldvwear) - USA
Runner and mother Vanessa Lambert, originally from Europe, celebrates her timeless, budget-friendly, and personal style through her blog, What Would V Wear. We love her classic, easy-to-wear style advice, including fitness finds like pieces from Splits59. As more moms value fitness, stylish workout clothes have become more popular, putting them to the top of many moms’ gift lists.
Pauline Privez (@paulineprivez) - Germany (via France)
Follow French fashion blogger and photographer Pauline Privez for fashion, style and home decor advice, along with baby-friendly outfit flat lays for every occasion. We love this throwback collaboration with Christian Paul Watches, which reminds us that even soon-to-be-mums are to be celebrated on Mother’s Day.
These are just a few of our favorite mum bloggers and ideas for Mother’s Day inspiration. Beyond gifts like clothing, jewelry and beauty products, sponsoring vacations, gifting spa days, or even offering services like food delivery or personal training are great ways to reach mothers with ideas for gift ideas they want. Remember that dads and sons shop for mothers, too, and consider collaborating with male bloggers this year to reach the women in their lives.
